Job Description

Based at client Assist the Service Delivery& Manager with the delivery of support services to  Ensure contracted Service Levels are adhered to by BTG. These include Security, SLA and Uptime targets. Assist with relevant projects as and when required.

The incumbent is expected to develop and apply his knowledge and skills in the field of Networking as well as Microsoft systems. Work with clients and all level of personnel, in both technical and business-related capacity. The ability to communicate both with technical and non-technical people, verbally and in writing.

Site owner for the Merebank support areas Networking related systems. ;Backup support for the Merebank Microsoft systems. Ensure that all the documentation and procedures concerning systems ownership are updated and followed. Ensure that daily/weekly/monthly tasks are followed as per the detailed checklists.&;Provide 2nd line support for all IT systems. Assist the team in a pre-sales function Liaise with outside vendors ensuring minimum downtime to the systems Supervise work undertaken by hardware, software suppliers and contractors to ensure quality standards. Obtain an in depth understanding of the infrastructure installations at the client.

In conjunction with the on-site engineers ensure relevant documentation for the above is up to date identify areas for service improvement from all the above. Ensure a process of continuous improvement is carried out. Assist with proof of concept testing when required. Provide input and assist with infrastructure expansion designs and installations. Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective availability, protection, and integrity of data assets.

Ensure availability for standby periods.

Adhere to safety policies and procedures

Daily task

Respond to calls logged within SLA General system calls, Maintenance Tasks, Change Controls and escalations. Authority Resolve any relevant onsite system issues

 

Job Requirements  

Extended knowledge on Networking, Server, Storage hardware and software systems Strong knowledge with Networking systems as well as file interchange, shared network resources.

A broad knowledge in Computer Networking, Applications and Operating Systems is essential

A systematic approach in general IT fault finding
