Technical External Sales Executive (Pumps) JOB TITLE: External Sales Representative DEPARTMENT: Sales LOCATION: Office: Johannesburg REPORTS TO: Area Sales Manager JOB PURPOSE Achieving sales targets by maintaining and growing customer base, advising and recommending products and / or spares, following up on leads, orders placed and delivery commitments to ensure customer satisfaction in line with service level requirements. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Sales Planning and scheduling appointments with existing and potential customers; Ensuring preparation for appointments by compiling relevant information including brochures, pump information and / or pricing; Conducting appointments including site inspection where relevant; Building customer relationships and improving the company’s reputation by meeting commitments, keeping promises and ensuring customer satisfaction; Recommending product solutions and obtaining pricing from internal sales team; Liaising with external suppliers for relevant pricing where required; Researching current projects and identifying potential customers to generate sales leads; Liaising with internal sales team for pricing and delivery information; Monitoring sales to ensure targets are met; Following up on all orders on a weekly basis; Ensuring all sales information is captured on the CRM; Updating sales target board on a weekly basis; Following up on outstanding payments with customers; KEY PROCESSES Working with internal teams to determine delivery, procurement and assembly of products to meet customer requirements; Liaising with relevant departments to solve queries and resolve problems; Undertaking research on product developments and ensuring up-to-date knowledge on industry developments Updating and maintaining customer database with relevant information on CRM system; Attending sales meetings and providing input as and when required; Collaborating with external suppliers or project teams to provide a full-service solution to clients; Sourcing alternate pumps and spares where required; Building customer relationships though targeted client entertainment and public relations activities, including delivering invitations, following up on attendance etc. BEHAVIORS Adhering to company values at all times by demonstrating: Clear and Concise Communication Being solution-minded Adhering to Quality standards Having a “can-do attitude” Being growth orientated Having passion for the job and the company Being respectful toward other employees and clients Maintaining ethical standards Building trust and keeping promises Focusing on client satisfaction Team player Flexibility and a willingness to help; Emotional stability and self-control; Friendly, helpful and presentable; Being focused and minimizing distractions Salary R25 000 CTC (medical aid & pension is the employees responsibility) Plus Company car Plus Fuel Plus cell phone Plus quarterly NEW business incentives KEY RELATIONSHIPS Internal Sales Teams External Clients, Suppliers, visitors, REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Educational Qualification & skills Matric with mathematics Sales or Marketing Diploma or B Tech Degree preferable Technical Qualification Not Required Experience 2-3 year’s sales experience preferably in an engineering / industrial environment.
